To clarify…

  1. Do you mean you want to use properties as part of an Analysis that has not not been enabled globally?
  2. You want to use a property from an Analysis that is enabled globally?

For #2, I know you can do that today. I have a number of groups that use the Active Directory inspector and other properties that we have created in various sites.

Are you doing #2 for Server Groups or for Automatic Groups?

Ahh, that is probably my confusion then. Didn’t catch the “server groups” part initially.

We’ve only used automatic groups, as initial testing with server groups was showing unexpected results, and we have not revisited.

Server based group using properties that are part of an activated analysis (either globally activated by a MO or locally activated as NMO).

We rarely use global properties, i.e those created by a MO in Master Action Site and have a significant number of custom properties, in excess of 1000, that reside in an analysis, e.g. properties pertaining to a certain OS are in an analysis that are only relevant to that specific OS or properties inspecting application specific aspects that reside in an analysis that is only relevant if the application is detected

Understood… Same here, the majority of properties we have belong to a custom site or External site, and I try to have always have a property belong to an Analysis. I also
discourage all BigFix operators for placing anything in a personal site and follow up with them directly to remove/move. If I could block personal sites, I would.

Your feature request could for sure be helpful then for anyone using the server groups feature.
