False Positive ? KB3080079 where Convenience Rollup Package is installed?

I’m showing three Windows Server 2008 R2 hosts relevant for Fixlet 3080079 “Update to add RDS support for TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 - Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 (x86)”.

The Fixlet Action fails, as does a manual install attempt (exit code 1168).

As far as I can tell, this should be included in the Convenience Rollup Package (KB3020369), which is installed on these hosts.

Can anyone confirm this should be present in the Rollup, and if so please update the Relevance to correct the false positive?

Hi JasonWalker,

KB3080079 is not included in KB3020369, but it is included by another convenience rollup KB3125574.

Bigfix content for KB3020369 is not marked as superseded because if we do so, many KBs included in this KB3125574 will be superseded but some customers may not choose to install a convenience rollup.

If you have further concern, you may raise an enhancement request with IBM support.

Best Regards,
Sylvia

Thanks very much, that helps to explain it.

I’m not advocating that this should be marked as superseded, but I think the Relevance should be tweaked to return a false if KB3125574 is installed.

Otherwise, the fixlet for 3080079 shows Relevant but will always fail installation if 3125574 is already present.
