Has anyone else seen the error message “
An internal error has occured. To ensure the dashboard continues to function properly you may need to close and reopen it. Details- Error #1502
”

I keep getting this when I try to upload a recently created MDT Bundle in preparation for using the Bare Metal OSD features. The MDT Bundle is ~1G on disk but it consistently crashes with 93.23MB uploaded. I’ve deleted the partial upload and retried it several times, both while RDP’d into the MDT Build machine and directly on the machine.

any interesting message in the OSD3_UMS.log file (under BigFix Enterpriese\Bes Server\Applications\Logs) ?

I started another attempt to upload an MDT Bundle, then looked in the Uploads folder on the server, there are no files/folders with todays date.

Does the UMS store files temporarily in some other location until the upload completes?

I also don’t see any changes in today’s current log even with this upload running.

Hi Tim,

the flow should be

1- on the machine with MDT Bundle output where you opened the TEM Console, in the %TEMP%\OSDeployment folder you should have TempraryZipFile.log and UploadManagerFiles folder: files are zipped and sent and there you can find initial tracing

2- on the TEM server, that UMS log is tracking received files (sent at step #1) which will be moved into the Uploads folder once completed

So, since no tracing into the TEM Server logs, probably at point #1 you may find some failures…

Would you please have a look at %TEMP%\OSDeployment\TempraryZipFile.log and UploadManagerFiles folder ?

I cleared the log before testing again.

The upload dialog box is once again stalled at Uploading PEX86 and the TemporarZipFile.log file is full of ‘adding: …’ lines.

It stops at line 1073 …

adding: upgrade/netfx/netfxupdate.exe (160 bytes security) (deflated 52%)

Hi Tim,

1- If possible, I would have a look at your MDT Bundle output folder, the one that you are uploading: is it possible to place it somewhere safe I can download it and try on my env ?

Otherwise I will need the steps to create it as your one, but sharing the folder would be faster.

(my email is my user name francesco.latino with @it.ibm.com - not setting the whole email to prevent SPAM).

2- in the %TEMP%\OSDeployment\UploadManagerFiles any logs ?

After zipping the files (trace in TemporaryZipFile.log), it should send to the TEM server (logs at %TEMP%\OSDeployment\UploadManagerFiles)

So, if there are no other logs into this folder (see timestamp), probably a problem when zipping, otherwise we may see some errors when sending the zipped file
