Never seen… maybe the proxy is tampering the license server response. Do you have the change to bypass the proxy?
Proxy and Default Gateway are usually entirely different things, are you sure you have that configured correctly?

Check with your network team. If your company has a proxy at all, the values needed will be specific to your network configuration.
