Error: Failed loading action site masthead

Hello,

I have an agent that doesn’t start. Below is the content of the client log file (this is the entire log). It was working before and I am not aware of any configuration changes on that machine.

In the Windows Event Log I see the below message:

Can anyone advise what could be causing this.

Hi Peter,

This error indicates the client was unable to load the actionsite.afxm file in the BES Client install folder (C:\Program Files\BigFix Enterprise\BES Client). Maybe the file was corrupted somehow, has been deleted, or System account no longer has access to it. You should verify the file is there and compare it against the same file on a working client. If it does not match, copy the file over from another client or the BES Server, and then restart the client.

Steve, the information you provided helped me to resolve the issue. The file ActionSite.afxm was missing in that folder and when I copied it over from another client the agent started correctly.

Hello,

I am having a similar issue with the service not starting but replacing the ActionSite.afxm file did not resolve my issue. Here is the details of the error below. Anyone have other ideas of what could cause this issue?

Hi gsmith,

Your error is slightly different than Peter’s, so the same solution will not apply. In your case, the client is unable to load the actual actionsite (not just the masthead), so you should try renaming the __BESData folder in C:\Program Files\BigFix Enterprise\BES Client. Then restart the client.
