Dynamic download status in Download Status Report

(imported topic written by MrFixit)

Running 7.2.4.60 and I noticed that when using a Fixlet that is using the dynamic download feature doesn’t get reported as Ready in the Download Status Report. Is this a bug or a situation that will always be?

Also on occasion I will see an entry for the a Fixlet using a dynamic download to show up under Failed listed as “Action: xxxxx Retry Mirror Request”. The action actually completed and reported as Fixed. If you click on the link in the report to retry it states that the download didn’t fail. This does appear to be a bug since the download didn’t fail and the Fixlet ran as expected.

thanks,

-Gary

Hey Gary,

You are talking about the download status report that you get from the BES Admin tool or by hitting the URL directly? The answer is that you are correct and there is a bogus “retry” link for dynamic downloads. This will be fixed in our next version and you can effectively ignore these errors for now.

Thanks,

Ben

Thanks Ben,

What about the Read status for cached actions? Should I not expect dynamic downloads to reflect a status of “Ready” in that report, or for that matter I don’t think I’ve been able to catch one reporting as “In Process” or “Pending”.

Good to know that the issue has been captured and not something specific to what I’m seeing here as I’m validating this 7.2 version prior to rolling out to production. Dynamic downloads are new test / validation cases so there may be more questions as the authors come up with ways to use it.

BTW: I often hit the URL directly when I’m not physically on the system but it is the same that you get when you run the diagnostic tool and check the download status.

Thanks again,

-Gary
