The “download now” command was temporarily broken in some of our latest releases and then we fixed it again. The “download now” command is rarely used because it doesn’t use relays for the download, but occasionally some customers use it in custom Fixlets.
Most people can safely ignore this issue because it will not affect them. (You will tend to know for sure if you use the “download now” command.)
More information:
- The issue occurs with Windows BES Agents with version greater than 6.0.10.0 and less than 6.0.17.2.
- The issue occurs with Unix BES Agents with version greater than 6.0.2.68 and less than 6.0.16.41.
The issue was that the “download now” command would fail if the folder “__Download” did not exist in the site download folder. If you have deployed or are planning on deploying these versions of the agents and you want to continue to use “download now”, there is a very simple work-around, which is to create the folder before running the “download now” action, which should fully address the problem.
