Disk / Partition / SAN Information for Solaris, Linux and AIX

(imported topic written by jcsUTSW)

I can do this through a shell script and dump results to a text file then make a property with the info in that text file. I’m hoping theres a way to just create my own custom properties in big fix that would return information I would get by running these 3 commands in shell… So I wouldnt have to use scripts and the text files…

cat \etc\vfstab

df -k

powermt display dev = all

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

For /etc/vfstab:

lines of file “/etc/vfstab”

For df -k, we have a number of properties in the “Memory and Partition Usage (UNIX)” analysis which is part of the BES Inventory and License site. The disk related properties in the analysis are:

Total Space of Partitions

Free Space of Partitions

Used Space of Partitions

I’m not a unix guru… what does ‘powermt display dev = all’ output?

How come it does not grab all the license information from AIX?

I’m confused, what’s the connection to SAN? What type of licensing are you looking for?
