Different SQL Server Editions for Replication

Hello!

I have a Main BigFix server with licensed SQL server 2012 Enterprise Edition. Now i have to make a DSA server but the issue is that the server has to be the same SQL server version and edition, but i just want to be sure if the version remains the same but i can the edition be different lets say i want to make the DSA server on SQL server 2012 Standard edition instead of SQL server Enterprise edition, will it work or do i have to install enterprise edition on DSA as well, cause its license will be a lot expensive.

Different editions of SQL should not affect DSA directly, though naturally the given instance’s functionality and capabilities will be limited to the given edition of SQL.
