We recently realized that data marked for deletion within the BigFix database (Deleted from the console) was actually removed but we can’t find evidence of any administrator running the Bes Audit Cleaner tool. Does running the BesAdmin tool perhaps do some database cleanup? Another guess is perhaps during our recent 9.2X upgrade to 9.5x, that maybe the upgrade ran a cleanup for us? This is an actual audit problem for us and we need to identify and prove how the DB was effectively cleaned-up.
I’ve contacted support and sadly they did not provide an answer and suggested I try here. (sigh)
Thanks.
Specifically, what data was removed from the console (and marked for deletion in the database)? And what data was is expected o be in the database but is not there now?
The data I refer to is fixlets and actions we previously stopped and deleted from the console. We found the appropriate tables but the fixlets and actions we wanted were not found. We did perform a restore of the backend database from a few days before the upgrade and found the deleted fixlets and actions we were expecting.
Thx
