Critical Sep-19 Patches servicing stack & Monthly failed with exit code:- -2146885628

Hi BigFix Masters,

The Sep 2019 Servicing stack and Monthly security roll-ups patches are getting failed with exit code: -2146885628 on almost 2000 endpoints.

Also we kept the patches sequencing as per Microsoft recommendation like

Servicing stack patches top of baseline then Micro-codes (sh1,sha2,sha256) patches then security roll-ups and Cumulative patches at bottom of baseline.

Also we selected the failure behavior 3 times failed retry and “wait until system has rebooted”.

But still patches are getting failed with exit code -2146885628 on almost 2000 endpoints.

Please help us as our patching is affected due to above error.

You may be running into an issue with SHA-2 code-signing of Microsoft packages. Are your systems Windows 7 or Server 2008 R2? The exit code -2146885628 is a decimal representation of the hexadecimal error code 0x80092004.
