CPM update from cloud fails with exit code 4

Hi All,

Most of our Windows 7 and 8.1 endpoints use the Core Protection Module “Update from Cloud” task for updating their pattern definitions. For most of them this works like a charm, but a few fail consequently with an exit code 4. From what I understand this means no update is available. However, forcing a failing endpoint to update via the relay does work, but this can only be a temporary solution for testing purposes. Updating has to be done “cloud-style”. I tried making sense of the TmuDump log files and can determine from the CPM TmuDump that the Trend Micro server was indeed successfully contacted and various files were downloaded and unzipped. The OfficeScan TmuDump file then reveals all the “UpdateManager endwith 4 (400000): There are no new components available…” entries.

Has anyone dealt with this before and perhaps have a solution?
