CPM Support for Linux?

(imported topic written by NickYoung)

Is it possible to download and push out the pattern update files on on an Endpoint Manager server running on Linux? The server is not showing as “applicable” when trying to install the Core Protection Module Server Components, so effectively Im guessing an Endpoint Manager Server hosted on Linux cannot support CPM? Which would explain why only Windows is listed below.

Is then the solution to have updates run from the cloud?

The fact is… IEM CPM doesn’t support Linux endpoint for now. You may submit a RFE here:
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=submitRfe
so that our product manager knows your request and would plan the items accordingly.

For clarity, Data Loss Prevention is a Trend Micro () product. IBM has a partnership agreement to provide installation options for their product only. This is a remnant from the BigFix days prior to IBM’s acquisition of BigFix. Now, the reason you cannot find a way to deploy Trend’s DLP on Linux is because Trend does not offer DLP on Linux. DLP is a Windows only product.

I’m sorry that’s not the answer you’re looking for as I believe the Trend product would be truly great if they supported Linux & OS X platforms. Unfortunately, it is what we are given.
