Could BigFix track user logged on hours each week?

We had a request to see if we could track how much time a user is logged onto a computer each week. Is this something that bigfix can do? I am going to lean towards yes, but I have not a clue how it would be done. I am still in my infancy on most things BigFix, and have been focusing so far on only client relevance and recently action script. I haven’t gotten into how data can be stored, custom reporting, and all the meaty stuff.

Pretty sure the power management site has the capability. Not in front of the console right now, but I can check later today.

Yes… the new Power Management (which will be released shortly) has a capability to track whether the system is idle or active for the purposes of figuring out if the computer could save more power. This capability relies on BigFix 8.0 Agent features (or on the plugin service that can be installed with version 7 agents)…

I should be a bit more specific. In the end the solution that the person was asking about would allow me to see that user X has been logged into their machine for a total of lets say 50 hours this week, and 36 hours last week, and 67 hours the week prior.

We do not currently have a capability to track “logged in” (unless you want to get clever with the event log). Our capabilities are currently tracking idle/standby/active times for the purposes of power management (but we don’t track these user-by-user).
