How is everyone dealing with this stuff? It sounds like some pre-patching stuff needs to set on any device with secure boot enabled otherwise you may have machines not come back up… The problem there isn’t even an easy way to check if machine has Secure Boot enabled or not (Confirm-SecureBootUEFI) supposedly can do it but it actually generates error “Not supported” on some platforms like VMware, so will need some kind of error-handling to be built; then scheduled to run on all machine; read back results and all of this before patching can commence…

Why is the following relevance check in the Adobe Acrobat Reader x86 fixlet? The 32 bit version installs on a 64 bit OS.

not (x64 of operating system OR ia64 of operating system)

Hi ,

Can some one pls update issue with relevance of patch - KB5027542 , June month dot net patch ? Its not showing relevant to most of our servers but able to install manually as showing missing in scan reports .

May I know why big fix have such issues on monthly basis and what excuse you have for the customers using this tool and facing these issues on monthly basis.

Can someone escalate this also if feasible in this tool ?

I have the same exact issue and already have a case open but not much progress yet. The really bizarre observation is that it doesn’t seem to be a fixlet issue but instead agent mis-behaviour. What I personally observed and that was over 2-3 separate machines, not an one-off was the following:

  1. Identify a 2012 R2 machine that is missing .NET June patch based on Vulnerability scanner
  2. Take screenshots of the machine in BigFix Console (no .NET patches relevant)
  3. Login to the machine in question to collect the proof for Support - check the .dll versions; run Windows Update to show that it detects missing patches; etc - compile the results
  4. A few mins AFTER client puts a log that it is now relevant to .NET June fixlets that it wasn’t seeing as relevant for a month now!

I am not sure what is going on - is it my session forcing the client to wake up; is it me running Windows Update scanning (and possibly that tweaks the reg keys that the fixlets rely on); something else… But it does not seem to be JUST relevance issue (maybe relevance fix will be able to somehow accommodate for it, don’t know) but it is really bizarre… It definitely is a problem with .NET on Windows 2012 R2 though. Glad that it was not just us, so it is not a problem with our clients/how they are configured…

This is what happending to us also form last few months and we are struggling a lot with Big fix as a tool …

Took a while with Support but for what is worth, it seems 2012 .NET patches for June were fixed (still testing but the numbers-wise makes sense).
