I’ll offer my option to say I’m not a fan of the truncated .NET Fixlet to allow for the (Superseded) suffix in the Fixlet name. I much rather have MS19-FEB or MS19-MAR at the beginning where I can easily identify which Fixlet is current.

@AlexaVonTess, don’t worry, we haven’t removed the MSYY-MMM designation from any of the fixlets nor do we plan to.

The MSYY-MMM designation, the KB number, the OS and product targeted by the fixlet are all still there.

Only the “name” of the update pulled from the specific MS source was shortened.
Ex: the part that reads “Preview of Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, 4.7, 4.7.1, and 4.7.2 for Windows XXXX and Windows XXX”

Do see them? I don’t.

The MSYY-MMM designation in our content is given to updates that have been classified by MS as a “Security Update”.

The MS catalog classifies the microcode updates as just “Updates”.

Ok thanks. I shouldn’t have included the Microcode… I was actually referring to the .NET stuff, which prior to the most recently released, did have the MSYY-MMM designation.

The .NET updates shown in your screencapture are also classified by MS as “Update”.

However, I will say that .NET updates can be somewhat of an odd case.

MS follows a regular release cycle for .NET framework preview updates regardless of whether there were any changes from the previous .NET framework rollup release. If there are no changes, they would just wrap the .NET updates into a new KB which still pointed to the previous binaries.

It would be these re-wraps of the old binaries where we would not add the “MSYY-MMM” designation since the other fixlet which points to the same binaries would have “MSYY-MMM”.

@bma The Knowledge Base article at Microsoft says the following (for Fixlet ID 448948807, for example)

This update for Windows 8.1, RT 8.1 and Server 2012 R2 includes cumulative reliability improvements in .NET Framework 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, 4.7, 4.7.1, and 4.7.2. We recommend that you apply this update as part of your regular maintenance routines.

So I don’t think these are Security Updates.

I think I understand now; those designations are strictly for updates categorized as “Security Update”. Thank you.
