Computer is not showing up on administered computers

What could be the issue if a computer is not showing up under the operator's administered computers, even though the computer is included in the assigned role?

For me, it would be 3 steps

  1. Is it reporting in? “Last Report Time”.
    1. Restart services and force full refresh
    2. Restart computer
  2. If applicable, run the relevance on role/group through QNA or Debugger
  3. Does start/stop service with deletion of BESData solve it?

If still an issue, I would go back and start from the beginning as the computer is likely not getting picked up somewhere into the role

The computer that is not showing up on the administered computers is actually the root server. This is happening on selected operators only, the other operators with the same role are able to see it under their administered computers.

Do you mean you have a role shared among operators, some of them are able to see the Root Server and others not? It’s weird… did you try to cleanup Console cache (File → Preferences → Clear Cache)?

I’ve seen this in the past where a NMO has the same settings and assignments as another NMO yet they have a completely different count of computers that they can administer.

It sounds weird but the only fix I found was to temp upgrade the account that was missing the computers to a MO, wait for that count to rise then change them back to an NMO.

This is a dangerous step to take though, especially if you don’t want that user to have access to all servers, even temporarily, so I’d consider raising a case with HCL before going down this last resort route.

Off hand, the issue still could be the BES Client on the root server. You can stop client service, rename _BESData for a later deletion, restart service and see if that fixes the issue.
