Computer Groups - Evaluation time

(imported topic written by lmpymilk91)

Can the evaluate time be changed for group properties?

I am finding if I have a computer group like the one below it takes anywhere from 30-90 minutes for the machine to change groups if the active directory path is changed.

I would have expected the changing from one group to another to take longer.

The Active Directory Path property is a special one where the information is updated once in 12 hours to prevent overwhelming the AD.

Lee, the AD path is updated quickly only because I restarted the workstations to restet the computer policy. once the machine comes back up and the BF client reports in the AD path is no updated. But this still leaves me wondering how to get the Computer groups to change at the same time. If our machines are built in a specific OU and then their roles are changed, we would want their compter groups in Bigfix to change at the same time.

So is there any help with the evaluation time for computer groups?

Thanks

Chris

I’m also having issues with computer groups taking a long while to update. I’ve got groups build based off of other groups (basically nested) and if a mistake is made, waiting on the correction to propagate out and take effect is difficult without refreshing the endpoints and/or the group itself. Any advice?

I have the same problem. Especially when creating a computer group that its properties are the names of other computer groups.

Ignoring the computers that hadn’t checked in yet (laptops), I found it could take a day or two before some of the desktops would show up new group containing the old computer groups. They showed up fine in the existing computer groups that this new computer group was pointing to.

any ideas?

Hi Stuart,

Are these groups based on the AD property?
