Client Setting BES Client inspector RPMDisableHelper

Hello,

May I know what the client setting _BESClient_Inspector_RPMDisableHelper is for?

We are experiencing issue installing the “Install or Upgrade Scanner” from BFI site and saw a PMR saying that this value needs to be set to the value of 1 in order to solve the Relevance substitution error.

The technote http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21638794 suggest that setting the value to 1 will disable the RPM helper from running. Why do some machines was not able to experience the relevance substitution error? Does this mean that by default, the RPM helper is not supposed to be running?

Thank you.

I’m getting odd behavior around BFI and I’ve done some digging and suspect this could be related to my issue. The “Update to latest version of BFI” task is non-applicable, although I am back-level.

Were you able to get anything more on this from PMR or such?
