Hello,
Are there any tweaks or customizations that can be made to use the incremental McAfee virus definitions updates rather than the full (refresh) file?
Currently the full file is 14.5MB and I’m being asked why we need to distribute this to all clients on an almost daily basis.
Do NAI still produce a (smaller) delta file of the updates?

Hi Phil,
We investigated this a while back. McAfee does have incremental updates, but they are not publicly available stand-alone updates. The only way to install them appears to be through McAfee’s automatic update mechanism, which we have no control over. If in the future McAfee ever does provide a way to install the incremental updates, we will try to integrate it into our current definition update process.
