Clear BES Local download caches for Linux

Hi,

I’m looking to see if there’s a Linux/Unix (all flavours really) equivalent to the ‘Clear BES Local download caches’ fixlet that cleans up these windows directories

__BESData__Global__Cache\Downloads
__BESData__Global__Cache\Utilities
__BESData__Global__PeerCache

I found this old forum post here Clear cache for UNIX/LINUX servers? - #3 by jpluff and it mentions that if you have enabled the ‘BES Support’ site and its higher than version v1339 (which we are as we’re running v1499) then the fixlet will be relevant to ‘every endpoint’ and while that is true it does not actually run. It just says its relevant and does nothing.

Any ideas?

It should work, as the actionscript is dynamic and should handle cross-platform devices effectively.

You might need to validate your path. Did you check the BESClient log file to see which path is being updated in the logs for cleanup?

Generally, the BESClient cache and download folder get auto-cleaned unless someone has configured the Client Setting to keep the Downloads at a certain level.

Check your target device to see if the following setting is configured: _BESClient_Download_DownloadsCacheLimitMB
