Hmmm… perhaps this is a known ‘Citrix / Terminal Services’ thing when using BigFix to patch (and subsequently specify/request reboot at end of patching sequence), but on 2 of 2 Citrix servers, the same thing happened once the patching itself was completed: It would show a status of ‘Pending Message’.
This does NOT happen on other Windows servers (2003, sp1 or 2, makes no difference) we would apply the same Action settings to for certain fixlets.
So, in these cases I must log on to the server, and the BigFix client UI immediately appears, and starts the countdown to the specified (by me in the Action) reboot, in this case counting down from 60 seconds to zero. These actions are NOT offers or anything like that and are very simple: Apply patches, regardless of who/what logged on to the server, and reboot 60 seconds after patching is complete. That’s that.
I’ve only seen this behavior with a couple of Citrix/TS servers so far, and not even ‘busy’ ones with users logged on running apps (just dev servers). Known issue? We’re running BES 7.1.1 currently. Thanks.
