I have recently had a bad experience with Roxio Easy CD DVD creator and have now hopefully uninstalled it. As part of the reconfiguration of my system I referred to MS article Q316529 which tells you how to check what type of burning device is being recognised - that is to check the Drive Type Value Data in the Volume {GUID}. They go on to say 1 = CD-R and 2 = CD-RW and 3 = CD-ROM, however there’s no mention of DVD-RW or ±RW etc.
Are there specific values that apply to DVD RW or are we left to assume we use the same values that apply to CD?
Can anyone throw any light on this issue. My actual DVD burner is a Philips SDVD 8820 running in a Dell Inspiron 1300 on MS XP Pro SP2 etc.
Cheers
