Can I trust "uptime"?

I am running a 3 step deployment and I need to reboot things in between…

I’ve noticed that if I force a reboot on the PCs that need it, the PCs status go from “pending restart” to “completed” indicated they have been rebooted. At the same time, the “uptime” remains to whatever is was for a lot of them (3 dauy, 40 days whatever)… So the client reported the reboot and updated the status but not the uptime property ?

Could it be that the property or analysis that you have as “uptime” is only evaluated on an irregular basis?

The uptime value should definitely change when the system is rebooted.

I agree with AlanM, can you check the evaluation period of the ‘Uptime’ property in question? If you are leveraging the ‘Uptime’ properties in the BES Inventory and License site for instance, the evaluation interval is only once per day. If so, for your particular use case, you may want to create a custom copy set to evaluate more frequently.

Curious: which OS system(s) and version(s) do you notice this behavior on? And are these endpoint machines virtual or physical?

You can see these uptime properties and their Period within Managed Properties in the console:
