BlackOut (Locked / Unlocked)

(imported topic written by ltd200991)

Hi,

By Active Directory path I have “attempted” to create a “black out period” basically meaning that during a specific set of hours we do not want the computers in these OU’s picking up any changes or actions from bigfix…

The locked Action seems to have worked, but the unlock action does not.

Our “Window” to allow bigfix to run actions on these computers is between 2:00 and 5:00 AM every day. Has anyone ever accomplished anything like this in bigfix?

LOCKED ACTION:

Messages

No user interface will be shown before running this action.

No message will be shown while running this action.

Users

This action will run independently of user presence.

User interface will be shown to all users.

Execution

This action will never expire.

It will run between 5:01:00 AM and 1:59:00 AM, on any day of the week, .

If the action becomes relevant after it has successfully executed, the action will be reapplied as a policy an unlimited number of times.

If the action fails, it will be retried up to 10 times, waiting 00:15:00 between attempts.

Post-Action

No operations will occur after the action completes.

Relevance:

((not exists effective date of action lock state) OR (effective date of action lock state < universal time “Fri, 08 Jan 2010 21:17:36 +0000”))

Action Script:

action lock indefinite “Fri, 08 Jan 2010 21:17:36 +0000”

UNLOCK ACTION:
