HCL Development is pleased to announce an update to IBM BigFix WebUI. This release introduces a range of improvements, including new features, functionality, and improved performance.
WebUI General Release
Release Features
Patch Policies enabled for department-level usage
Patch policy management is now available for patching teams and departmental level administrators (non-Master Operators) with the following enhancements:
- NMOs can now create and manage policies and schedules, associating them with Custom Sites for controlled sharing with other operators.
- Patch Policy permissions can now be controlled and associated with different Roles, so NMOs will have only the permissions they need for their specific job role.
BigFix Query adds more inspector support
BigFix Query now supports the evaluation of relevance expressions in client context. This extends Query’s ability to return data from the BigFix client for investigative and troubleshooting purposes, including context such as the client’s ID, parent relay, and applicable Fixlets.
Other WebUI Enhancements
Node.js Version 10 Upgrade – The WebUI has been upgraded to Node.js v10 for improved performance and stability, and continued Node support.
Changes to the Service App – This feature increases compatibility and improved reliability during Node upgrades, and allows older versions of WebUI apps to run concurrently with new versions during upgrades. This release also includes UI design, navigation, and workflow improvements, as well as defect fixes and security enhancements.
WebUI will update automatically by default, unless configured otherwise.
