BigFix WebUI new release available! (December 2021)

HCL Software is pleased to announce an update to BigFix WebUI!

The main features in this release are as follows:

Device document and Patch document have been redesigned. In Device document a new and improved data layout is now available: for devices with multiple representations (i.e., BigFix agent and Cloud), a better view of the data from the different representations is available.

Deployments page has a new design with improved UX and data density, advanced filtering and sorting capabilities. It is also possible to search an action by ID, and delete expired/stopped deployments.

WebUI Take Action now honors action settings locks: when a fixlet has been configured to leverage locks on parameters or deployment options, these locks are now respected also when deploying from the WebUI.

Improve AWS discovery efficiencies by selecting the AWS regions to be scanned
You now have a better control on discovering cloud endpoints in the AWS cloud by optionally filtering specific AWS regions to be scanned during the endpoint discovery process.
Note: this feature requires BigFix Platform version 10.0.5 or later.

Query application has been redesigned to make better use of display area at different resolutions. You can now target devices for Query pasting in a list of computers (manual targeting). In the ā€œBuild Relevanceā€ wizard it is now possible to use math operators (greater than, less than) when creating a filter using a numeric property.

Patch policies has more intuitive search, filtering, and sorting options. It is now possible to configure a policy so that the related actions are sent down as offers. Patch policies now also provides support for Windows 11, Windows Server 2022, MacOS, Amazon Linux 2, SLES on Z.

  • Can we elaborate more about this endpoint discovery?

Hello, BigFix provides the capability to discover endpoints on public clouds: AWS, GCP and Azure, in additionl to VMWare Vsphere. This happens through the provider APIs.
Once endpoints are discovered and available in BigFix, the agent can be installed on those.
