We are using BigFix 10.0.9 version and need to upgrade It to 10.0.11 and the databases are hosted remotely.
Could you help us with major precautions and steps to upgrade the BigFix.
If I understand correctly you want to upgrade the BigFix Platform from 10.0.9 to 10.0.11 and database is remote - please read Upgrading on Windows systems and eventually you’ll use the “manual upgrade”
Yeah, I’ve read that I should be going through a manual upgrade. However, I need to understand if the db connection needs to be setup again or nothing will be impacted as such during the manual upgrade.
Read the documentation, Manual upgrade , make sure to follow the backup procedure.
When you Upgrade the BigFix Platform, on some versions, there is also upgrade of the ODBC driver - I had one time an issue that I needed to make changes in the new ODBC connection.
But usually, it’s a breeze
Always remember to be on the safe side and make backup
