This position requires excellent and proven attention to details, process and discipline for production environment IT Operations and a willingness to work in a complex and dynamic environment. It requires the commitment to completing the job on time with quality results. The candidate must have experience working in the federal government arena supporting enterprise class customers (5,000+ users) with the solutions identified below. Experience with small customer bases will not be considered relevant. The candidate must also be familiar with and have implemented best practices in an enterprise environment.

The candidate will have technical leadership responsibility for the EUC technologies (SMS, BigFix, WSUS). A commitment to overall job success and task ownership utilizing and working with the members of all program teams is required. The candidate must demonstrate sound technical skills in the following areas, minimally to include:

  1. Daily operations related to the management and maintenance of the workstation infrastructure in the production environment, to include:

a. Patch management activities, to include planning, testing and validation, scheduling, deployment, and success verification reports.

b. Software packaging and deployment to workstations

c. Deploying antivirus definitions to workstations and servers

d. Interfacing with customer staff on user related issues, as well as proposing and implementing solutions to immediate issues impacting end user community

e. Desktop foundation / image management

f. Tier III workstation infrastructure support

g. ITIL v3 certified and/or ITSM Service Management experience

  1. Task based activities

a. Development, maintenance, and management of core desktop foundation/image (Windows and Macintosh)

b. Packaging, testing, and management of applications for automated distribution

c. Researching and preparing recommendations for improved management and maintenance of the workstation infrastructure

d. Oversight of SLAs and customer deliverables associated with COTS version currency (N-1)

Service and engineering discipline will be a key to success

Required Skills (in priority order)

Candidates must possess the below required number of years of experience and be a Subject Matter Expert in architecting and implementing large scale enterprise solutions in a 5000+ seat environment

• A minimum of 5 yrs demonstrated experience leading team of 5 or more employees

• A minimum of 5 years architecting, implementing and managing enterprise application packaging, software distribution, and patch management technologies; primary focus is on Bigfix; other requirements include SMS/SCCM, WSUS.

• A minimum of 5 yrs experience with project management discipline including coordination of project requirements and schedules with other infrastructure teams

• A minimum of 5 years experience with patch management activities; including testing, scheduling and deployment

• A minimum of 5 years of experience working within and adhering to the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

• A minimum of 5 years experience with preparing technical documentation (SOPs, architectural diagrams, etc.) to support projects and infrastructure improvements

• A minimum of 5 yrs experience with project management discipline

• A minimum of 5 years architecting, implementing and managing desktop foundation/images

• A minimum of 5 years architecting, implementing and managing enterprise solutions designed for deploying antivirus definitions and management of client/workstation security, such as ePO and HIPS

Desired Skills

• Public Trust Clearance and/or DoD Secret or Top Secret

• PMI/PMP

• ITIL v3 certified and/or ITSM Service Management experience

• FDCC standards and image management

• Knowledge of change and configuration management methodologies

• Knowledge of industry best practices and lessons learned in the above disciplines.

• Knowledgeable in a variety of software packaging and distribution technologies

• Knowledge of patch management and asset management best practices, clients and configurations
