BigFix Property Tip

Hi all,

I need a property that extracts the date 7 days after the second Tuesday of the previous month.

Thanks to anyone who can offer a suggestion.

Giorgio

(year of it as string & "-" & month of it as two digits & "-" & day_of_month of it as two digits) of ((first tuesday of (current month_and_year - 1 * month)) + 2 * week)

To explain how it works, the inner part of the relevance:
(first tuesday of (current month_and_year - 1 * month)) + 2 * week

  • current month_and_year - Gives the current month and year (e.g., December 2025).

  • 1 * month - Subtracts one month = previous month.

  • first Tuesday of (...) - Finds the first Tuesday of that previous month.

  • 2 * week - Adds two weeks (14 days) to that first Tuesday.

Why two weeks?

  • First Tuesday + 1 week = second Tuesday
  • Second Tuesday + 1 week = 7 days after second Tuesday
  • So total = first Tuesday + 2 weeks.

Result: “7 days after the second Tuesday of the previous month.”

Now the outer part of the relevance:

(year of it as string & "-" & month of it as two digits & "-" & day_of_month of it as two digits) of (date)

  • year of it as string - Extracts the year from the date and converts to text.
  • month of it as two digits - Extracts month and formats as two digits (e.g., 03 for March).
  • day_of_month of it as two digits- Extracts day and formats as two digits.
  • & "-" & - Concatenates with hyphens to form YYYY-MM-DD.

So the final output is a string in ISO format like 2025-11-18

Hi John,
Your help is invaluable. I've been trying to do something similar for a while now, but it failed because I wasn't entering the "1 * month" multiplication, but only "1 month." Thank you so much, and since Christmas is just around the corner, I wish you a peaceful and merry Christmas.

Regards

Giorgio
