BigFix Patch now supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 on x86_64

BigFix Patch is pleased to announce support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 on x86_64.

The new site called ‘Patches for RHEL 9’ uses dnf, which is RHEL 9’s default package manager, and contains content from the following channels for RHEL 9 systems:
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 for x86_64 - BaseOS (RPMs)
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 for x86_64 - AppStream (RPMs)
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 for x86_64 - Supplementary (RPMs)

Actions to Take
RHEL 9 requires BigFix Client version 10.0 Patch 7 (10.0.7.52).

Subscribe to the Patches for RHEL 9 site from the License Overview Dashboard. If the site is not showing in the License Overview dashboard, update your license from the dashboard by clicking ‘Check for license update’, then run the BigFix Administration Tool.

Users of the RHSM Download Cacher will need to update to version 1.0.7.0:
• Windows - http://software.bigfix.com/download/bes/util/RHSMDownloadCacher.exe
• Linux - http://software.bigfix.com/download/bes/util/RHSMDownloadCacher-linux.tar.gz

I’ve some issues with the download plugin for Linux, on our side RHEL:

  • Site version of Patching support is 1000

In Downloadplugin Dashboard I see 1…0.5.0 as installed version for RHEL. Starting the upgrade process leads to:

The action for “update download pluing RHEL” refers to version 1.0.6.0:
prefetch RHSMPlugin sha1:44da750ea11b2d48c654371bd77ba83c430d8900 size:12507093 http://software.bigfix.com/download/bes/util/RHSMPlugin-1.0.6.0-linux sha256:406fa7f7efcc30966d5303cf5108815a8e3b02985334e4e0580f941a6d1f8b75

and mentions “one client shows not relevant”. Checking the relevance this one goes to false:

Q: ((size of it != 12507093 or sha1 of it != "44da750ea11b2d48c654371bd77ba83c430d8900") of file ((key "StoragePath" of section "Software\BigFix\Enterprise Server\GlobalOptions" of file "/var/opt/BESServer/besserver.config") & "/DownloadPlugins/RHSMProtocol/RHSMPlugin"))
A: False

The tar file provided by the download link also contains version 1.0.6.0?
