BigFix Patch is pleased to announce that it has extended support to include patching content for Amazon Linux 2 Extras Libraries on x86_64.
The new site called ‘Patches for Amazon Linux 2 Extras’ uses YUM, which is Amazon Linux’s default package manager. Here are the subset of supported repositories for Amazon Linux 2 systems under this new site is:
- Amazon Kernel-5.4
- Amazon Kernel-5.10
- Amazon Kernel-5.15
- Tomcat, Mariadb,
- Postgresql, Ruby, Python
- Firefox, etc…

Please note that livepatch, testing and deprecated libraries are not supported.

The new site ‘Patches for Amazon Linux 2 Extras’ requires entitlement to any of the following licenses:
- BigFix Remediate
- BigFix Lifecycle
- BigFix Compliance
- BigFix Workspace / Workspace+
- BigFix Enterprise / Enterprise+
Subscribe to the ‘Patches for Amazon Linux 2 Extras’ site from the License Overview dashboard.This new site requires BigFix Client version 10 or later.
Note: If the site is not showing in the License Overview dashboard, update your license from the dashboard by clicking on ‘Check for license update’, then run the BigFix Administration Tool (BFAdmin.exe).
