Has anyone tried using Bigfix OSD with MDT 2012?

Using MDT 2012 and OSD is not currently supported. The MDT Bundle Creator should not run that MDT 2012.
We are currently working on updating to using MDT 2012 in order to support Windows 8 at the beginning of next year.

We just upgraded our MDT environment from 2010 to 2012. Is there a work around? We are highly distibuted, and we would like to at least make our standard image available to our tier 2 guys in the field. Would you recommend just creating a task and then use the precache wizard to cache the image on a relay in each location?

Unfortunately, not really any work around. The machine building the MDT bundle will need to have MDT 2010 Update 1. There are a number of changes with 2012, making some of our setup and modifications and use of MDT not compatible with MDT 2012, yet.
Definitely pre-caching on the relays would be a definite must. This way you can set up when you want that to precache and other things in order to ensure it gets sent at an appropriate time with the proper throttling settings. As for your reference to creating a task, not sure what you’re meaning. If doing re-images, these need to be initiated from the dashboard so they’ll have to have access there. Templates of course play a part in this so that they will not need to know configurations and options.
Future plans call options to create baselines instead of directly creating actions, but that is still a while out with no definitive time frame.

Is there an update on when MDT 2012 will be supported?

The planned release date is April 15. With that we will have a new version of the MDT Bundle Creator that can be used which would work with MDT 2012 and WADK, and will allow creation of MDT Bundles that support Windows 8 and use MDT 2012. This can be used in conjunction with the older version of the MDT Bundle and will work with previously imported items.

Excellent. Thanks for the quick response.
