Features:
The update includes two changes.

  1. Important fix for BigFix Inventory 10.0.12.0 to address [KB0104295] defect, which may lead to decreased number of discovered software installed on Windows endpoints.
    The fix includes new versions of ‘Initiate Software Scan’ fixlet and ‘Installed Windows Applications’ analysis.
    The new version of ‘Installed Windows Applications’ analysis is applied automatically on BigFix servers with network connectivity to the Internet.
    If on a BigFix server there is an active action based on ‘Initiate Software Scan’ fixlet in version 10.0.12.0, the action should be stopped, and a new action should be scheduled based on ‘Initiate Software Scan’ in version 10.0.12.0.2 to synchronize the fixlet output with the analysis.
    If the fixlet has been run in version 10.0.11.0 or older, then its output is compatible with the analysis.

  2. Hotfix to address [KB0103961] defect, which may lead to unnecessary load on AD/Domain Controller.
    To address the issue ‘Clear Corrupted Scanner Installation’ fixlet is temporarily removed from BigFix Inventory v10 site. The change is applied automatically on BigFix servers with network connectivity to the Internet.
    If ‘Clear Corrupted Scanner Installation’ fixlet has been run (applies to any version) and action is not yet completed, then it should be stopped.

  1. KB0104295
    If the issue has not been observed, no further action is required.
    If the issue has been observed
    • Make sure that your BigFix server is connected to the Internet or use the Air Gap tool
    • Make sure that the site version of the fixlet site is at least on version 162
    • Stop all actions based on ‘Initiate Software Scan fixlet (10.0.12.0)’ and run the updated version of the fixlet: ‘Initiate Software Scan (10.0.12.0.2)’ or newer, if available.
    • Wait approximately 24 hours to propagate the analysis to BigFix endpoints and run Data Import on BigFix Inventory server.
  2. KB0103961
    • Make sure that your BigFix server is connected to the Internet or use the Air Gap tool
    • Make sure that the site version of the fixlet site is at least on version 162
    • Stop all actions based on ‘Clear Corrupted Scanner Installation’ fixlet
