As part of the Continuous Development process the BigFix Inventory team localized specific scenarios for improvements and decided to share related updates earlier than the next standard release. The improvements are related to data processing, reduced further first import time after the upgrade and removal of confusing, not necessary log information.
The refreshed BigFix Inventory Server package 11.0.6.0-20260126-1703 is available now with the following issues addressed:
- BI-35948 The first import after the upgrade triggers not necessary reimport of ISO tags. In case of failure to download the file such operation is repeated in the next imports until success. As a result repeated error messages are visible in the logs regardless files are no longer available for download.
- KB0128045 / BI-36366 Package Data Import fails on some computers with specific packages due to incorrect truncation of values with multibyte characters.
- BI-36274 ISO tags import does not support properly corrupted ISO Tags. Such tags are rejected and old discovery records are closed.
- BI-36547 False warning log messages in Data Import log: "Invalid persistentID" during ISO tags import.
- BI-36564 The new pruning mechanism may extend the first data import and Continuous Discovery Processing after the upgrade by several hours due to deletion of orphants records if accumulated due to insufficient pruning in previous releases.
After this change the recent BigFix Inventory Server version is 11.0.6.0-20260126-1703.
The previous BigFix Inventory Server version is 11.0.6.0-20251216-1855.
Release notes for Server and tools have been updated. Changes included in the refresh are listed in a dedicated section.
Actions needed:
If you plan to upgrade the BigFix Inventory server to version 11.0.6: ensure that your BigFix Inventory site is refreshed to version 12 and follow the standard upgrade procedure.
If the BigFix Inventory server is already upgraded to version 11.0.6:
- If issues listed in this update are not observed then no action is needed.
- If any of the issues are observed or you would like to eliminate the not necessary warning messages then contact HCL Support to receive the hotfix for your installation.
