If your BigFix Inventory version is 10.0.10 or above, use the BigFix Inventory, BigFix Inventory Discovery and BigFix Scanner sites to upgrade the BigFix Inventory server to version 11.x and update the scanner and server software catalog. If your BigFix Inventory version is older than 10.0.10.0, contact HCL support for instructions.

Starting from this release, Initiate Software Scan and Upload Software Scan Results actions require BigFix Inventory Server 10.0.4 or higher! For details refer to the release notes

Upgrading BigFix Inventory Server from the 10.x to 11.x. version has a few additional steps to be followed before and after the standard upgrade procedure. Those steps are one-time tasks. For more details, check release notes.

• To upgrade the BigFix Inventory server to application update 11.0.3.0, run the Upgrade to the latest version of BigFix Inventory fixlet from the BigFix console and the new BigFix Inventory site.

The February 20250221 catalog is included in the server package as stated in the announcement. The server package is produced earlier before March catalog updates are available. If you have already March catalog in your current BigFix Inventory server then newer catalog will be kept during the upgrade.

I’m not seeing the Continuous Discovery Processing Advanced Server Settings after upgrading to 11.0.3.

This setting is hidden by default. To see it, you have to set “show_hidden_values” to true on the Advances Server Settings panel.

Is there a way to determine how much activity Continuous Discovery Processing is generating with web reports or some query?

I can see the CDP logging its queries in tema.log on my BFI server every 2 minutes, and a corresonding API connection on my root’s server_audit.log.

There is dedicated advanced server setting to set the frequency in case you would like to change the default 2 minutes. Details are in the release notes and user documentation.
