There are seven key features in HCL BigFix Inventory

    Added discovery of software in optimized Docker container images. In addition, new cluster technologies verified for Kubernetes API compatibility.

  • Support for new platforms and systems including

    • Fujitsu Cloud IaaS Instance - FJcloud-O
    • Windows 11 Pro, Pro for Workstation and Enterprise edition
    • Windows Server 2022 Standard and Datacenter edition
    • AIX 7.3 support with disconnected scanner
  • Software Catalog version
    Added capability to discover 400+ software versions for software titles and publishers, such as Adobe, AutoDesk, BMC Software, Cisco, Hewlett-Packard, JetBrains, Microfocus, Microsoft, Red Hat and many more.

  • Improved performance

    • Scanner with cache optimization enabled
    • Optimized user interface response time
  • Technical equivalence to IBM License Metric Tool 9.2.26

Actions needed:

  • To upgrade the BigFix Inventory server to application update, run the Upgrade to the latest version of BigFix Inventory fixlet from the BigFix console.

  • To upgrade the BigFix Inventory scanner, run the Install or Upgrade scanner fixlet from the BigFix console.

  • To apply new discovery capability, run the Software Catalog Update fixlet from the BigFix console and then wait for the next data import.

Update the following fixlets:

  • Initiate Software Scan

  • Initiate Software Scan on Shared Disks

  • Upload Software Scan Results

To ensure that Cache optimization is a preferred method for the Software Scan.
