Are there any plans to setup insights so it uses Windows Authentication vs SQL Authentication. This page makes it clear it is using SQL Authentication currently. https://help.hcltechsw.com/bigfix/10.0/insights/Insights/Operators_Guide/t_datasource.html Any eta?
This is something we’re looking into and do plan to address, but we don’t have an ETA to share at the moment…
If we manually modify the linked server object stored in the database to use Windows Authentication, will the ETL job attempt to rebuild the object back to SQL Authentication or will it leverage it as-modified?
I suspect that it would respect the definition of the link server using win auth if you did it via adhoc config… It is not something we have tested or verified … But this approach does seem reasonable and something that likely could work… Of course test \ verify in an env other than prod…
