BigFix for RHEL mgmt/patching experiences

Hi,

I was just wondering what anyone’s experiences is with using BigFix for RHEL.

Like it? Don’t?

Any comments.

I’m investigating if we should use it over RH Satellite Server.

Using it with the default configuration where the IEM Server downloads the patches passes them to the Relay then the Agent installs them is SLOW.

IBM recently added the ability to make use of Native Tools to apply the patches. You use your existing Satellite Server but IEM keeps track of everything. MUCH faster.
