BigFix Diagnostic Tool "Unable to Query Service Status"

Hi,

When I run the Diagnostic Tool, it fails while checking the following:

BES Rool Server Running , Checking that this machine is running the BES Client and all tests in teh Services tab.

The Error message is the same - “Unable to query service status”.

The operating system is Windows 2008 Server x64 and I recently used Security Configuration Manager to configure the settings for the machine.

May I know how BigFix queries the service status using the diagnostics tool so that I can isolate a particular service that is not running and then enable it?

This is a known issue in Win2008 Server. We will address it in a future release… For the moment it is nothing to worry about… If you want to check the service status, you can check it in the Windows Services dialog.

Thanks for the reply Ben,

I noticed that when I right click and select run as administrator, there is no problem at all. I guess its the UAC that is causing the issue then.
