Usage and Config BigFix Detect

One of our customers would like to:

  • Prevent USB devices from being used on Windows, Linux notebooks, workstation of support, development people.
  • Customer’s identified files only be email or transmitted from Windows, Linux notebooks, workstations to certain target location.

Can BigFix Detect perform above? If yes, please describe more how.

@mikemci These are not the features provided by BigFix Detect.

What you have described are typical of DLP (Data Leak Prevention) type products.
Trend Micro OfficeScan is a product to consider.

IBM also resells Carbon Black Protect (pka Bit-9) to provide device control features.

Note: The Trend CPM (branded “BigFix Protection”) solution has an end of life of 12/31/2017. We are currently telling our customers who have BigFix Protection to migrate to the Trend OfficeScan solution with Trend: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21991918

There is also a site typically available to our customers on their license named “Security Policy Manager” which has some content for disabling removable USB media ports.
