The HCL Development team is pleased to announce updates to the BigFix Asset Discovery.
This release provides the following capabilities:
BES Asset Discovery now supports Nmap Scan Point Version 7.991 on the following operating systems:
all Windows ( x86-64 ), Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.4 and higher ( x86-64 ), Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and higher ( x86-64 ), Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 and higher ( x86-64 ), Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 and higher ( x86-64 ), CentOS 7,8 ( x86-64 ), Amazon Linux 2 ( x86-64 ), Amazon Linux 2023 ( x86-64 ).
Nmap Vulnerability Addressed:
CVE-2026-58058
Reason for Update:
Nmap 7.991 includes new OSs and service fingerprints, a much-improved library Npcap 1.88.
Actions to Take:
Users of BigFix Asset Discovery will need to update the Nmap Scan Points to version 7.991, using the following Fixlets from the BES Asset Discovery site:

Fixlet 264 Upgrade Nmap Scan Point - Red Hat Enterprise Linux | CentOS
There is no Platform version as a prerequisite.
