Bigfix agent for zLinux?

(imported topic written by SystemAdmin)

Hey all. Does anyone now if there is or will there be a client agent for zLinux? We are starting to get these requests to monitor these machines as well and, from an inventory perspective, it would be very helpful.

Thanks,

Paul

Looking for something similar? We are starting to deploy a few small subsets of zLinux which we plan to run ClefOS for System z which is based off CentOS. https://www.sinenomine.net/products/linux/clefos

Is there even a BigFix agent that can be installed?

@bkone, installers for the BigFix Agent (aka BESClient) and supported operating systems are version dependent. Please double-check your planned BES version on the BigFix Releases page for which operating systems are supported. That said, I do not believe there’s native support for zLinux/SystemZ systems. @AlanM can you weigh-in on this thread?

I believe s390x installer is for zlinux. There are Red Hat and SuSE installers in this link.

Hello, I confirm that Bigfix supports zLinux agents. The OS type and version are listed here (version 10):
https://help.hcltechsw.com/bigfix/10.0/platform/Platform/Installation/c_spcr_platform.html
and here (version 9.5)
