Bigfix Agent and/or BES Client?

I am sure this is a simple question, but my ignorance is finally catching up to me.

What is the difference of between the BES Client and BES Agent?

I am planning to move from Management Extender to Cloud Plugin for my Vmware guests, and it appears that my VMs which currently now have the 10.0.3 BES Client also need to have the Bigfix Agent installed ??

Am i reading things correctly?

Should i just plan on every system having both an Agent and BES client installed or just VMs and Cloud deployed systems?

It’s a good/fair question. Unfortunately, we use the terms somewhat interchangeably…they are essentially the same thing. There is only one BigFix ‘Agent’ or ‘Client’. For your VMs, installing the BES Client/BigFix Agent is what gives you that deeper level of visibility and control.

So for the reference made with the Cloud Plugin:

“Agent” is the “BES Client” or the “BES Agent Proxy”?
