Does BFI have the ability to track installed software from a historical perspective? For example; let assume you have been running the required BFI scans since the beginning of this year. In March computer x had solar winds installed. Today in July it does not. Would it be possible to see when an application was removed?
In the Software Classification report, you’ll find several columns that relate to this scenario. They include:
The default filter on Software Classification sets the value of Present equal to Yes. If you add the three columns to the report, and flip the filter to Present equal to No, or remove the filter, you’ll see that for Software components no longer present, there is a date value in Discovery End.
This date will reflect the last scan time the component was detected. The actual removal date cannot be known, unless you scan every day.
