BESRootServer process Memory creep/leak

Hey guys/girls, I see about 100 MB + increase in the BESRootServer process every night on my main server. I see smaller increases, but still increases, with the TEMAnalytics and BESwebReportsServer processes. Basically, I have been keeping an eye on this and tracking it for the better part of a week and I imagine this has remained true in my environment for a while. Long story short, I tend to run low on resources after a while, and I was wondering if this sounds normal, and if so, do you schedule normal reboots weekly, or bi-monthly? We run a ton of actions nightly, which I am guessing contributes to this increase in the process. At this point, I could probably go about two weeks before I need to restart these services or reboot server and not wait for something bad to happen first. Thank you in advance!

My system is Windows based also and I have version 9.2.2.21

Have you ever waited to see if it ever reaches a break point?

Upgrade to the latest version of the BigFix server. You are still running 32-bit BigFix server components.

==========================================
= Changes between 9.2.2.21 and 9.2.3.68 =

Features Added or Changed

  • Windows Server Components (Server, Console, Web Reports, FillDB, and BESAdmin) are now 64-bit Windows applications.
    • The new 64-bit memory addressing allows the IEM server components to access more than 4GB of memory.
    • This improves performance for larger IEM deployments and prevents “out of memory” failures in Web Reports and the Console.

This is most definitely NOT normal. You should definitely file a PMR with IBM about this and provide a link to this post in the PMR.

Upgrading to the newest version might help, but if this problem continues, you should definitely have IBM investigate this.

The root server is only rebooted for updates, otherwise never.
