Hello All,
I have an interesting question… I am attempting to use the BESDeploy for the client, I would like to be able to use the Active Directory Search Method… my issue at hand is that we have multiple child domains. Our BesServer lives in one domain and defaults to that Active Directory root, I’m curious on how to manage other AD domains from this utility.
BesServer lives in domain1.domain.com and i’d like to search for clients in domain2.domain.com… and even furthering it, we do have trusted forrests so eventually get to domain1.domain1.com.

This is an enhancement request we’ve heard before and intend add in a future release. For now, you need to run the deploy tool from a machine that is on the same domain as the machines you want to install clients on.

Just to clarify, that is only for the Active Directory search method. You can still install using the list method regardless of domain membership.

Sounds good man! We are a large client, so maybe we’ll have to throw in a product request? Unless it’s on the roadmap?
and to note, it is only for the AD search method… I actually wrote a decent VBscript to dump the machines from an OU to a file for using the list method in BesDeploy.
