BESClient service won't start with error code 28

Hi,

After deploying February’s patches last night a client appeared to go off-line.

After logging on it appears the BESClient service won’t start with error code 28?

I’ve removed the client & re-installed but the service still fails to start.

Hi Neil,

That sounds strange… is this just one client? Where do you see this error?

You might try running the BES Remove tool and clear everything out for the client and then re-install and see if it fixes everything.

The removal tool worked. The service started.

It was only this one client & you see the error when you try to start the service.

Hmm… sounds like one of the BigFix data files got corrupted and the BigFix Client errored on startup. When you cleared the files with BES Remove, it seems to have eliminated the problem… Not sure what caused it… cosmic rays? :slight_smile:
