BESClient service periodically runs high on Linux Servers

Over the past 5 days, I’ve received alerts regarding CPU usage as follows:
BESClient 3790 9.60937240194578 %. What would causes periodic spikes in CPU usage for a BESClient? This is occurring on a couple of servers in my environment. Thank you for your help

Check the times against the BESClient logs to see whether it was running an action, performing a site gather, kr doing something else at the time.

Have you considered enabling Client Debug Logging? It will show you which elements are being worked on during your period of High Utilization. It consumes quite a bit of disk space, but it gives you a VERY granular view of what the client is spending it’s time one.

Don’t forget to turn it off when you are done.
