BESClient on AIX not returning correct OS level

We have the BigFix Platform and client at the latest 9.5.9 level

The client is running on oslevel —> 7100-04-05

We have checked the oslevel -s and oslevel -rl 7100-04-05 with no filesets missing or in inconsistent state .

BigFix is reporting in qna session .

Q: current service pack of operating system
7100-03-06-1546

Server has been rebooted and client agent re-installed . I need to understand why BigFix is reporting the wrong OS level. This is affecting our custom baselines.

Also can someone please explain where is BigFix pulling the oslevel information from? What command is the BESClient using to determine the OS Level?

@rackham you can try by changing the evaluation time of the analysis. By default the evaluation period is set to one day.

Found the solution to this by searching IBM PMRs. It turns out that the bos.cluster.solid fileset was not at the correct level. This fileset is used for cluster aware applications like PowerHA (I think). The customer was not even aware they still had this fileset installed on this system, since it is not part of a cluster. Once we removed this fileset and restarted the client, it began reporting the OS version correctly.

It’s hard to call this anything but a defect (anyone from BigFix development listening?). If the BESClient on AIX reports anything different than the oslevel -s command, this will be a frustrating (and very difficult) issue to resolve.
